| A Tribute To Our Military Men and Women |
Memorial Day! I know this is a time we get off work and have barbeques, picnics, etc, but do we really stop for one minute to think about what Memorial Day is? Because I have someone very close to me in the military, I have a constant reminder of it. Many of you may not agree with the war in Iraq and I admit I have my opinions about some of the things going on, but I can't help but have a sense of pride when I see the military men and women that are serving in that country. The news doesn't show all the facts. They don't show the little children running to meet the soldiers with smiles on their faces waiting for the soldiers to pull out some candy. They don't show the Iraqi father of one of those children giving the soldier an Iraqi flag to thank him for giving them freedom from terrorists and dictatorship. Yes, we do have a long way to go before that country can stand on its own without the fear of being overthrown by ruthless men again, but when I hear of the stories of the little children and the mothers and fathers of those children that are thanking our men and women for helping them gain some freedom, I am proud to say that I am an American and proud of all those keeping freedom alive!
God bless the families of our lost and fallen soldiers. You all are an inspiration to me because I know that I too may be one of those wives that does not have a husband come back someday. May the Lord Jesus Christ give you the peace and comforting that you so much need and deserve. I'm only one voice but I thank you and your husbands, fathers, children, uncles, wives, mothers, and aunts (whoever it may be) that have given themselves so unselfishly and given the ultimate sacrifice--their lives for someone else's freedom! |

| It's The Weekend! |
Are you glad it's the weekend?? I sure am. It's been a long day. Human Resources is a tough job especially whenyou are short staffed. I'm in the recruiting part of HR and we have a extensive process for references and background checks. We have to do that since we are a mutual fund company. It's surprising how many people lie about their background and don't think they will get caught. Anyway, I had seven files this morning and I only got through one today! I will be working late nights next week.
Anyway, Jer and I will be having a X-Men marathon tonight to get us ready for the new one that is out! I can't wait so I better get started :)

Just Thinking
Today I took a day off from work. I do have to go to the hospital for a procedure, but it's one of those same day in and out procedures. I have to actually leave in half an hour, but I absolutely dread going to the doctors. I usesd to work for two doctors for three years, but I wasn't the one actually going into see them so that is the major difference. After I get home, I'll probably rest a bit just because the doctor said I would be a little uncomfortable afterwards, but then I'm not going to waste the day away. We have a long weekend coming up and the last thing I want to do is spend my weekend cleaning the house so I am determined to get that done today. Since I work really long hours at work I have no energy to clean when I get off, so it always has to wait for the weekend but not this time! :) I know this blog is not exciting but those are my thoughts for now. Maybe I'll have more to write about as the day goes on.
